Thanks for checking out my speaking page! My goal is to partner with you in serving your audience with excellence. Here's a little about me... My name is Brooke McGlothlin, and I live in the beautiful mountains of Southwestern Virginia.

I hold a Masters in Counseling from Liberty University (2003) and a BS in Psychology from Virginia Tech (1999...Go Hokies!). After Grad school I worked for over ten years ministering to women in unplanned pregnancy through local Pregnancy Care Centers, and then stepped down for my most challenging task ever--raising my sons.

A normal day finds me acting as taxi driver for my two boys, wrangling two large Labs, Toby and Siri, writing to bring hope to the messes of life (in the midst of my own messy life), and falling more and more in love with the man I've had a crush on since the third grade (who just happens to be my husband).

I'm Co-founder and Editor of an amazing online community for mothers of boys called the M.O.B. Society, and I've had the honor of writing Hope for the Weary Mom: Where God Meets You in Your Mess (co-authored with Stacey Thacker), the Hope for the Weary Mom 40 Day DevotionalPraying for Boys: Asking God for the Things They Need Most, and several ebooks, including How to Control Your Emotions So They Don't Control You, and the Praying for Boys Companion Guide. Several years ago I created the Fight Like a Boymom program to help moms of hard-to-handle boys learn to fight FOR their sons instead of against them. My newest book, Gospel-Centered Mom: The Freeing Truth About What Your Kids Really Need releases from Waterbook in the fall of 2017.

I'm a writer, word-prayer, photo-maker, and boy-raiser who knows that if God doesn’t show up, nothing happens.

Speaking Topics

I'm happiest speaking to women about finding hope in the messes of life, living a Gospel-centered life, and raising godly men but I also dearly love talking to writers about building effective platforms, marketing their work, and embracing the life lessons associated with being a writer (i.e. sanctification on the road to publication). "Brooke has been one of our most popular speakers at the Roanoke Regional Writers Conference for the past two years and the reviews of her classes have generally ranged in the "rave" category. She knows what her students want to know and is able to relate about as well as anyone I know. She keeps complex topics as simple as they can be, while remaining relevant. She's a good one." ~Dan Smith, Conference Host and Coordinator

"Brooke McGlothlin is an amazing teacher. Her no-nonsense advice is a must have for everyone hoping to build a platform." ~Gina Holmes, founder and award-winning author of Crossing Oceans and Wings of Glass

“Brooke and Stacey, in their honesty and transparency, brought laughter, tears, hope and encouragement to many weary moms. Their stories resonated not only with young moms but also with those of us who are more in the “weary grandmother” category.  Their stories were our stories.  Their “kitchen table” our kitchen table.  Both Brooke and Stacey have  an extraordinary ability to see how God meets us in our mess and how He works in the mess for our good and His glory.  They radiate the life and love of Christ, and I felt like both the time and place were holy ground.” ~Jan, Hope for the Weary Mom Kitchen Table Talk Attendee
