When your husband calls you on the phone to tell you he's whisking you away to the beach for a long weekend to celebrate ten years of marriage (13 together)... You just pack up and go.
I couldn't pick just one photo for this week's One Beautiful Thing challenge, so here are a few of my favorites from our long weekend in Myrtle Beach. Believe me friends, getting away with my best friend, digging my toes in the sand, walking hand-in-hand on the beach, and listening to the waves...
Therapy for my soul.
Our room was on the very top floor! I've never stayed 19 floors up, but the view was just breathtaking.
One of my very favorite places to eat while visiting Myrtle Beach is a little place in Surfside Beach called Sara J's. We ate right on the water. The rest of the photos you'll see were taken as we walked there after dinner. (We love another restaurant in Murrell's Inlet called Drunken Jacks. I've probably eaten there 15 times over the years).
This one was taken just before Blue Hour.
Working on my composition!
One of my favorites. See the fireworks in the background?
My favorite! I worked hard for this one friends. Had to lean out over the boardwalk so far that my sweet hubby yelled, "Hang on to that camera! We can't afford a new one!!" Apparently my safety was secondary...ahem.
The photos would've been better if I'd had my tripod with me, but overall, I'm very pleased with the way they turned out and the memories they'll provide for us for the next ten years of our journey together.
They're my One Beautiful Thing for the week friend. What's yours?
